The weather in Statue of Unity varies throughout the year. During the summer months of March to June, the weather can get quite hot with temperatures reaching up to 40°C (104°F) during the day. Monsoon season starts from July and lasts until September, with occasional heavy rainfall. The winter months of November to February are considered the best time to visit, with pleasant weather and temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F). However, it’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast before planning your visit and to carry appropriate clothing accordingly.

Reaching Statue of Unity

Here are the different ways to get there:

🛫 By Air: Book a flight to Vadodara or Ahmedabad, the nearest airports to the Statue of Unity. From there, hire a taxi or take a bus to reach the statue. I booked the cab via @cabbazzar app, and the cost came upto 2.9k for 6 seater car.

🚂 By Train: Take the Ekta Nagar Dadar Express train from Mumbai to Ekta Nagar. After reaching Station, you will find free bus service or rickshaws to reach the statue of unity entrance gate. Train starts at around 11 pm and drops you in the morning by 7 am. And the same train will depart Ekta Nagar at 9:20 pm and drop you to Dadar by 5 am.

🚗 By Road: You can also take a road trip from Mumbai to the Statue of Unity. It’s approximately an 8-9 hours drive, and you can enjoy scenic views along the way. But be prepared to spend time on the road and make sure to keep taking halts in between.

To reach the Statue of Unity from Mumbai, there are several options available. The most convenient way is to take a direct flight from Mumbai to Vadodara, which is the nearest airport to the Statue of Unity. From Vadodara, you can take a taxi or a bus to reach the statue. The journey takes around 2-3 hours.

Whichever mode of transportation you choose, make sure to plan your journey ahead of time to avoid any last-minute hassles.

The Statue of Unity is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day, and the Sound and Light Show takes place from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. You can also find food court inside the campus where you will find decent food but do not keep your expectations high.

5. Use the Locker Facility

The Statue of Unity offers locker facilities to visitors, where you can safely store your belongings while exploring the site. This can be especially helpful if you’re carrying valuables or heavy luggage.
The Statue of Unity doesn’t allow luggage inside the campus so you will have to use the locker facility at the ticket counter which is FREE to use and you can store your luggage till 8:00 pm post which the locker room closes.

6. Accessibility

The Statue of Unity is designed to be accessible for people with disabilities. There are tactile pathways, audio guides, and braille signage available at the site. There are also designated parking spaces, ramps, and lifts for people with disabilities. Wheelchairs are available for rent at the site.

Apart from this they also have shuttle services from ticket counter to campus and other popular spots. Which are FREE to use and gives you enough mobility. Because you cannot walk from one sight to other as each sights are at different location and with 1-2 kms away. 

7. Explore the Surrounding Area

The Statue of Unity is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape, including the Sardar Sarovar Dam and the Narmada River. Take some time to explore the surrounding area, either on foot or by the electric pink rickshaws driven exclusively by women.
