You can experience the best that Maldives has to offer during this season. All islands be it private or local are well populated and the environment tends to be celebratory and busy. But it also with its own con- as it is a peak season, you will find tourist crowd around, so be prepared for that.

Hotel/resort/guesthouse and various ocean activities tariffs/cost can be extremely high given this is peak season. For more budget-trip most preferred time to visit Maldives would be after April which is towards the end of the peak season also called as shoulder season.

Refrain from carrying pork, alcohol, tobacco products and religious books. The law is very strict in this regard. If you take or buy an alcohol bottle it will be confiscated at the Male airport.

Lastly, always compare and check prices for water activities before booking. Season time can see a lot of price spikes.

Maldives in Wet Season (May to November)

During this time of the month you will find Maldives temperature be ~31 Degree Celsius by day and ~ 25 Degree Celsius by night. The temperature is similar to the peak sesaon.

Out of all the months, September tends to be the wettest month in Maldives. So you can always your trip accordingly, to avoid heavy rains. 

Also, this is also the month where stay, food and other activities are the cheapest. 

But make sure to face stormy weather if you visit during the wet season. Participating with the water activities however is not advisable during this season and should be done at one’s own risk.

This time of year is popular among surfers, because the beaches sees bigger waves and best for surfing during these months. While the waters can be dangerous, the adventurous traveler can look forward to a wholesome time.  

The Holy month of Ramadan which tends to fall in May is one of the best time to visit Maldives. If not ocean excursions, you can still get to savor a lot of Maldivian delicacies. Enjoy iftar meals and rose, apricot and other flavored juices at restaurants and cafe.
